I snapped this photo back in 1988 at the Chicago Blues Festival. Homesick James was playing the Backporch Stage on a beautiful Friday afternoon. I had long been a fan of Homesick's blues, and his idiosyncratic sense of timing. His slide guitar playing left me speechless, and when he sang, his vocals harkened back to a time of the Chicago blues I wish I could have been around to revel in. A great memory, indeed!
